Day 1
Today we pick you up at the bus station in Sauðárkrókur or welcome you at our farm Helluland.
After having some coffee and cake together we go for a first ride to see the horses. After the ride we will have dinner together.
Day 2
After the breakfast we go for a ca 2 hour black beach ride close to Sauðárkrókur. Afterwards we will have a lunchbreake and drive to the Grettislaug, a natural hot pot next to the ocean. At the farm again we will enjoy dinner together.
Day 3
Today we start the first ride with handhorses after breakfast. We are riding in the direction of Hofsos and passing for example an other great beach where we can ride in the dunes. We will ride for around 20km (2-3hours). After the ride we will have lunchbreak at home and then drive to the torfhouse museum. At Helluland we will have a nice evening while eating dinner together.
Day 4
After breakfast we drive to our horses and we will ride the next trip. Today we are going to the famouse area of Kolkúos, the home of the old blood line of Kolkúos which is really well known.
The landscape there is really beautiful and we will have great views while riding. We will be around 15km in the saddle today. After a lunchbreak at home we are going to the swimmingpool in Hofsos where we can have a view over the ocean when we are sitting in the hot pot. This is a great way to enjoy the afternoon before having dinner together at home.
Day 5
We drive back to our horses after we had breakfast together. We will ride through the beautiful Kolbeinsdalur and if we are lucky we can already see a lot of “wild living” horses which are there over the summer. We will be 2-3 hours in the saddle until we stop at the next farm. From there we will directly go to Holar where we check out the beautiful church and university and also the big stables. If the horse museum is open we will of course have a look in there. At home we relax until the dinner is ready.
Day 6
For the last time we drive after breakfast back to our horses and we will go for the longest ride we do together. The ride is around 30km (3-4 hours) and will bring us back home. Maybe we will not
ust ride with handhorses, but also let some of the horses run free with us on the way back home. At home after a break we can bring everybody who wants to Sauðárkrókur for some free time, look to the supermarket or even in one of the small museum. In the evning we enjoying our last dinner together.
Day 7
After breakfast we say goodbye to everyone and bring you back to the bus station in Sauðárkrókur.
Price total: 1560€ (all inclusive beside the drive to/from our farm)
Accommodation is in our guesthouse with shared bathroom and in 2, 3 or 4 bed rooms.
The participants of this riding tour should have good experiences in riding.
